How it Wore, Lip Swatches, and Review: Marc Jacobs Up All Night Set

This set was a part of their Christmas collection this past year and is currently on sale on the Marc Jacobs Beauty website. Since I have never tried any Marc Jacobs products before I figured I would take advantage of the sale and test this out!!

The case of the set.

This set comes with five mini Le Marc Lip Cremes.

Arm swatches of the five shades.

Le Marc Lip Creme in No Angel.

Le Marc Lip Creme in Slow Burn.

Le Marc Lip Creme in Oh Miley.

Le Marc Lip Creme in Miss Scarlet.

Le Marc Lip Creme in Scandal.

How it Wore

First Application of Le Marc Lip Creme in Slow Burn.

1:19 pm: Applied Le Marc Lip Creme in Slow Burn, it applied really smoothly and was nice and creamy.

8:39 pm update.

8:39 pm: After some snacks throughout the day and supper it was pretty well worn off.

Review

Although it for the most part wore off after eating, I tend to be less critical when trying out creme formulas as they are not made to last as long as matte lipsticks or liquid lipsticks. In addition, when swatching the lipsticks on my arm they immediately were so creamy and pigmented, the only one I had to swipe twice was the dark purple color Scandal. However, as I have mentioned in other posts this is not uncommon for darker shades. Overall these lipsticks are well worth the price and I will definitely be buying some full sized ones in the future, and would definitely recommend this set especially since it is currently on sale.

Thank you all for viewing my post and I will be posting a new one towards the end of the week and will have plenty of hauls coming up soon!! Happy Easter!

How They Wore and Review: Stila Aqua Concealer and Foundation

How They Wore

First application of foundation and concealer

12:51 pm: First application of the Stila Aqua Glow Serum Foundation and Aqua Glow Serum Concealer. I primed my face with my usual Benefit Porefessional and set my under eye area with my Lara Mercier Loose Setting Powder and the rest of my face with my Makeup Forever HD Pressed Powder in Translucent. These are products that I know work for me so if there was any difference it would be from the foundation and/or concealer.

Update at 7:13 pm after completing my makeup

7:13 pm: At this point my foundation and concealer had been on for a little over two hours and was holding up pretty well. Everything else applied smoothly on top of the foundation and concealer.
If anyone is curious I will post the details of the rest of this look at the end.

Update at 12:25 am.

12:25 am: After being on for twelve hours and going out for part of the night, you can see the foundation started to wear off, especially around my pimple. However, it lasted pretty well for being on for twelve hours.

Review

Overall both the concealer and foundation lasted well over time; however, after just one layer of each before even applying powder it looked cakey because it picked up and emphasized any dry areas I had and any bit of texture on my face. If you have dry or combination skin like myself I would not recommend either of these products for that reason. The applicator for the concealer was also difficult to work with and gave out too much product at once, which was a waste. This is not against the brand at all, I love other products from Stila, these just happened to not work out for me personally.

Thank you all for viewing my post and I will be publishing a new one very soon! Also let me know if there is something you want me to get and try during the upcoming Sephora VIB sale!!

How They Lasted: ColourPop Cosmetics

Day 1: Lippie Stix

Lippie Stix in Aquarius

8:36 am: Applied Lippie Stix in Aquarius, it applied nice and smoothly.

12:50 pm: After eating lunch it had worn off almost completely.

Although the Lippie Stix did not last too well through a meal it is a crème formula so it was not expected to last very long in the first place. For the time it did last it sat nicely on my lips and I was not worried about it getting messed up until I ate.

Day 2: Ultra Satin Lip

Ultra Satin Lip in Jiffy

8:44 am: Applied Ultra Satin Lip in Jiffy, it applied nicely but not as smoothly as some of their other products.
1:04 pm: Checked after lunch and it was still holding up pretty good.

3:46 pm update

3:46 pm: After a snack it was still holding up pretty good, but it started to settle into the lines of my lips a little more and the inner lip had faded.
5:52 pm: After supper it was pretty well all gone.
Overall, it lasted nicely throughout the day, the only real issue was the inner lip fading.

Day 3: Ultra Metallic Lip

Ultra Metallic Lip in Mug Shot

8:47 am: Applied Ultra Metallic Lip in Mug Shot, it applied really smoothly, but remains a little tacky and does not dry completely.

11:35 am update

11:35 am: The colour was faded after lunch, but still there and the metallic shimmer was also not as strong at this point.
4:59 pm: Following supper the colour was gone almost completely.
Although it never dried completely, it still wore nicely throughout the day and the shimmer stayed even if it wasn't as strong as when first applied.

Day 4: Ultra Matte Lip

Ultra Matte Lip in Love Bug

8:45 am: Applied Ultra Matte Lip in Love Bug, it applied smoothly, but had to be careful to wait until it dried to close my lips or else the inner lip would come off.

1:00 pm update

1:00 pm: It still looked really good after lunch besides some fading on the corners and the inner lip fading.

5:46 pm update

5:46 pm: After a couple of snacks throughout the day and supper it was very patchy and pretty well gone, especially on the inner lip.
Overall it lasted very well throughout the day and would not need many touch ups until later on in the day.

The main issue I seemed to have throughout was the inner lip fading away quickly. However, other than that they all lasted very well, especially the Ultra Metallic Lip even though it didn't dry completely. The only exception was the Lippie Stix, but as I mentioned previously that is to be expected with a crème formula.

Thank you all for viewing my post and I will be publishing a new post sometime soon!!

ColourPop Cosmetics Swatches: Part Two

Ultra Matte Lip

Lip swatch of Ultra Matte Lip in LAX

Lip swatch of Ultra Matte Lip in Tulle

Lip swatch of Ultra Matte Lip in Lumiere 2

Lip swatch of Ultra Matte Lip in Clueless

Lip swatch of Ultra Matte Lip in Mimmy

Overall the consistency across all of these shades was the same and they all applied really smoothly. The only real difference was that some of the darker shades did not stay as well on the inner lip. For example, as you can see from the swatch of LAX, as soon as I pressed my lips together almost all of the lipstick on the inner lip came off.

Pressed Powder Shadow

Eye swatch of Pressed Powder Shadow in Silver Lining

Since this is the only Pressed Powder Eye Shadow I purchased I cannot compare it to other colors, but the shadow applied nicely with a flat shadow brush. There was no kick up or fallout with the shadow and I would definitely purchase more in the future.

Thank you all for viewing my post and I will have something I'm going to call How They Lasted for ColourPop Cosmetics up later today!
