Multimasking With Tarte!

My logic behind this purchase is that I love face masks and I love Tarte Cosmetics, everything should be perfect! I hate to say this, but this was not the case though. This mask retails for $52 Canadian and contains two masks in the one jar (each .88 oz). One half is a purifying clay mask for your pores (which I applied in my T-Zone) and a brightening, hydrating gold gel mask (which I applied to the rest of my face). I don't know where to start with this review, so I guess I will start with how each mask did or did not work for my skin. Starting off with the purifying clay mask, this is the one I liked the least out of the two masks. It did do a great job exfoliating my skin, but it was a little too harsh of an exfoliation for my sensitive skin. Even as the mask was drying and tightening it was starting to become uncomfortable. If I needed a good exfoliation every once and a while I would use it, but it is too rough to use as a regular face mask.

Not the best picture, but my face was very red where the clay mask was.

On the other hand I loved the hydrating and brightening gel mask! I felt as though this mask made my skin feel really nice and smooth and hydrated. I didn't notice a huge difference in brightness, but what I did like was that I noticed there were tiny gold flecks or sparkles in the gel mask which is what brightens the face. Since I preferred the gel mask far more than the clay mask another con of this mask duo is that after me and my boyfriend using it just once each, you can already see the bottom of the container on the side with the gold mask. I would not jump to buy the clay mask, but if they sold the gold mask separately I would buy it in a heartbeat! Overall the price for both masks is a little steep seeing as you don't get much of each mask, but if you think both masks would work with your skin type and you don't have sensitive skin, then I would recommend it. However, if you think you would only benefit from one of the two masks then I would say it would not be worth the money.

Thank you all for viewing this post and I will have another one up soon!

Review

Before I get into the actual quality and pigmentation of the shadows I just want to start by talking about the packaging and how amazing it is!! The packaging is so cute and the little details in the packaging are great. I love how it looks like a book and the writing and the fact that it comes with a velvet drawstring carrying bag for the palette. Now to get into the actual shadows, I love them!! They are very pigmented and blend out beautifully, the only shade I was not one hundred percent impressed with was the shade Merlin. Although this shade was still beautiful, it was not as pigmented as I would have liked it to be. As you can see from the arm swatches above this is not as much of a vibrant blue as it looks to be in the palette. Overall though I love this palette and would definitely recommend it to anyone and I definitely plan on purchasing any future palettes that they come out with!

Weird Products: Boscia Jelly Ball Cleanser

My love for weird products and the brand Boscia really fueled my need to make this post! As soon as I saw this product previewed on the Sephora app I knew I needed to have it!! After a night out of a full face of makeup I decided to try it.

This cleanser took off everything, very quickly too!! I really feel like this cleanser got rid of all of my makeup and really did a great job of cleansing my face. I used this cleanser on a full face of makeup after a night out and it removed everything from my face very easily and effortlessly!

This is the full face of makeup that the cleanser removed

Although I do think the whole process of getting through the packaging is a little gimmicky, it was kind of fun too (the fact that it's jelly is a fun touch too). This product was nice and gentle and did not irritate my sensitive skin at all!! Overall, Boscia has made another great product and I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to try out a new cleanser!!

Thank you all for viewing this post and I'll have another one up soon!!

5 Looks: Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette

Back in April during the Sephora VIB sale I had purchased the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance pallet after hearing a lot of hype about it from YouTubers and even my own cousin. I have been playing with the pallet ever since and have been loving it so I have decided to share five looks I created with the pallet with you here.

Look 1

How I created this look:
- Love Letter all over the lid
- Red Ochre in the crease
- Venetian Red in the outer crease and the lower lashline
- Cyprus Umber on the outer corner and outer lower lashline
- Primavera on the inner corner

Look 2

How I created this look:
- Golden Ochre all over the lid
- Raw Sienna in the crease
- Burnt Orange in the outer crease
- Realgar on the outer corner and the lower outer lashline

Look 3

How I created this look:
- Tempera all over the lid
- Warm Taupe in the crease
- Antique Bronze in the outer crease, the outer corner, and the outer lower lashline
- Buon Fresco on the inner lid
- Vermeer on the center of the lid

Look 4

How I created this look:
- Red Ochre on the lid
- Realgar in the crease
- Primavera on the center of the lid

Look 5

How I created this look:
- Love Letter in the crease
- Cyprus Umber in the outer crease
- Buon Fresco on the lid
- Burnt Orange on the very center of the lid

Overall I love this palette! All the shades blend out beautifully and I have had no problems with pigmentation for any of the colours. The only thing is that you really have to tap off your brush before going in with each shade, but that is not uncommon and not a huge issue. I would definitely recommend this palette!!

Thank you all for viewing this post and I will have another one up soon!!

ColourPop Cosmetics Birthday Collection

I know it is a little late now, but I just received my order of the ColourPop Cosmetics Birthday Collection the other day and wanted to share it with you all. I will share swatches, my opinion of the collection, and a look I created with the collection.

Swatches

The first four swatches are the pressed powder eyeshadows, followed by the supershock eyeshadow, the highlighter, and the three Ultra Glossy Lips.

Lip swatch of Ultra Glossy Lip in RSVP.

Lip swatch of Ultra Glossy Lip in Bash.

Lip swatch of Ultra Glossy Lip in Wishes.

Look and Review

How I created this look:
-The Big 3 Pressed Powder Eyeshadow all over the lid and in the inner corner.
-Rager Pressed Powder Eyeshadow in the crease.
-Party Favors Pressed Powder Eyeshadow in the outer crease.
-Birthday Cake Super Shock Eyeshadow on the outer lid.
-Cakewalk Pressed Powder Eyeshadow on the inner half of the lid.
-Highlighter in Blow Me Out.
-Ultra Glossy Lip in Wishes.

Now to be completely honest this look did not come together the way I wanted it to. I loved the way my eye look turned out, but I found nothing else went together cohesively.
In my opinion if you were not able to get your hands on this collection you did not miss out on too much in my opinion. There are some aspects that I liked about the collection, but other aspects that I did not care for. First off I will start with what I liked from the collection. I absolutely loved the pressed powder eyeshadows, they were all really pretty duo chrome shadows and I would love to see ColourPop make more of these types of shadows. The other item I really liked from this collection was the Birthday Cake Super Shock Eyeshadow. This was a product that anyone could get for free if you spent $25 at the time the birthday bundle was available. Although I loved this shadow when it arrived it was not secure in the pan and can just fall out and I have never had this problem with any of their other supershock eyeshadows I've tried.

Now for the parts of the collection that I did not particularly like. First of all, I was not a big fan of the Ultra Glossy Lips. Although they were pigmented, I found they would be better as more of a lip topper than an actual lip gloss and I was just not a big fan of the colours and how they looked on me. The formula is nice, I just did not like the sheen/shift they had to them. I'm addition, for similar reasons I was not a huge fan of the highlighter that came with the collection just for my skin tone personally. The formula of the highlighter is so smooth and creamy and based on the formula I would definitely buy one of their other highlighters, but this one was just too dark for my pale skin, but would be beautiful on deeper skin tones!

Overall, there were aspects of the collection that I loved and others that I didn't quite care for. I feel as though they could have put a more universally friendly highlight in the collection since the one they included was very gold in colour. In addition, as I mentioned I did not like the finish of the lip glosses, but there were only lip glosses in the collection as well. I feel like they could have given a few more options in terms of lip products, like one Ultra Glossy, an Ultra Matte, and an Ultra Satin Lip or something like that. Despite those things I was not one hundred percent impressed with in the collection, I loved all the eyeshadows that were included and thought they were beautiful! So if you were able to get your hands on this collection that's great, but if you weren't able to I wouldn't say it's a huge loss or a must have collection of products.

My Top 10 Products for Summer

Since summer is upon us, that means the heavy caked on makeup is not always the best choice and skincare also changes. Therefore, I have decided to share here some of my top 10 products for the summer time and why I like them.

Boscia Tsubaki Lotion

During the summer you don't want to use a heavy moisturizer because it will make your face look really shiny and greasy and will practically melt off your face in the heat. However, this is a nice light moisturizer that also adds the most beautiful natural glow to your face. It's absolutely perfect for those no makeup looks with the perfect glow without it being a chunky glitter.

Marcelle CC Cream

CC creams are a great alternative to heavy foundations during the summer. They still provide a nice light coverage while also... There are many great CC creams, like the IT Cosmetics CC cream, but the Marcelle one is a great cheaper alternative!

Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Face Mask

This is a great mask for the summer time because cucumber is very calming for the skin and this mask is also nice and cooling on the face. In addition, it's even better and more cooling if you but it in the fridge first! There is one major downside to this mask though and that's the price. If you are on a budget I would not recommend this product, but if you want to treat yourself this is a great mask.

Living Proof Restore Perfecting Spray

With the summer there is a lot of swimming and damage to your hair with chlorine and salt water so it is also important to take care of your hair too. I just got this recently in a Sephora Favorites set and I love it already. Since I have thin hair it does not take much for my hair to get tangled and knotted up and this easily gets the tangles out while also conditioning my hair, which is great for the summer when your hair needs a little bit of extra care.

Dry Shampoo

With the heat of the summer and sweat that comes with it, I find it a lot easier for my hair to look greasy. I've recently started using and love the new Ouai Dry Shampoo Foam. However, another dry shampoo that I've used and highly recommend is the Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo, the only thing is you have to make sure you really work it in so there is no white residue.

Tarte Blush & Glow Blush & Highlighter

This is a new product to my collection and it is a part of Tarte's Double Duty Beauty line. The shade I have is Peach glow and the blush is absolutely beautiful and not too bright on the cheeks. The highlight though is absolutely blinding and beautiful. The only downside is that there is only one other shade option so there is not a whole lot of variety for different skin tones.

Face Mists

Face mists are great for the summer, they are nice and refreshing and hydrating for the summer. I have found over time that I really like both of Tarte's face mists, but I have recently started using the Caudalie Beauty Elixir and really like that as well.

SPF

SPF is probably the most important thing to have in your collection during the summer, especially if you are as pale and prone to sunburns like me!! There are two Facial SPFs that I have been using lately, the first is the Peter Thomas Roth Sunscreen with SPF 50. I love the high SPF in this sunscreen, the only issue is that if you use the slightest bit too much it will be very greasy looking on your face. The second SPF I've been using lately is the Tarte Tarteguard SPF 30. Although it is a lower SPF, it is not as greasy as the Peter Thomas Roth one and it is also a cheaper option.

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer

Everyone loves a good bronzed glow especially during the summer. I've heard a lot of people loving the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer and I recently received a sample and have also been loving it. Another great option for a Bronzer, from the drugstore, is the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer.

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment

These Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments were one of the first higher end products I ever bought from Sephora and I have loved them ever since. They are very comfortable on the lips, while also treating your lips and adding a nice layer of colour.
