Review: Wet n' Wild Queen of Hearts Collection

I've been holding on to this collection for a while now and just now got to posting a review for you guys. On the bright side though it has given me a lot of time to test out these products to give you guys a good review! So I'll talk about each product in the collection from my favorite to my least favorite, but first some swatches!

Swatches

Swatches of the Megaglo Cheek & Lip Tints and the Megaglo Highlighters.

Swatches of the Color Icon Eyeshadow Trios.

Swatches of the Perfect Pout Lip Palette.

Megaglo Highlighting Powders

The purple Megaglo Highlighter.

The pink Megaglo Highlighter.

These highlighters are oh my god absolutely amazing!! They are so pigmented and definitely blinding. If you are looking for a blinding, glowing highlighter I would definitely recommend these. The pink one is obviously a little more wearable for everyday than the lilac one, but they are both beautiful. The only thing I will say is that they feel very rough when you touch it with your fingers, but I do not feel as though that affects application in this case

Kabuki Brush

I find it harder to review brushes, but you really can't go wrong with a good kabuki brush and that's exactly what this is. Ever since I bought this collection this has become my new favorite brush for applying blush and I don't think that is going to change any time soon.

Look 3

I have never tried any Wet N' Wild eyeshadows before (to be honest, I never thought the quality would be good because of the price), but I am glad I've tried them now. These applied and blended out smoothly with very little kick back and I love the three trios of shades they chose for this collection.

Megaglo Cheek & Lip Tint

I was not expecting to like these as much as I did, but I was surprisingly impressed with them! I loved all three colors and they were very pigmented. Now they are obviously not long lasting on the lips and you do need to work to blend them out smoothly on your cheeks. Other than that these are a great product to have on hand.

Perfect Pout Lip Palette

Now this was my least favorite item in the collection. That's not to say that this was a bad product, it's just that it was my least favorite in the collection. My main issue with this palette is that there were quite a few shades that looked like just another clear top color, rather than being nicely pigmented like some of the other shades. In addition, for me personally I do not think a lip gloss palette is not essential to my collection and is just not something I would normally jump for.

Overall, there are a few products in this collection I would highly recommend. The first, which is an absolute must have in my opinion are the amazing, blinding highlighters! They are just too beautiful to pass up!! If you do not already own a good kabuki brush, I would definitely recommend the one from this collection and I would also recommend trying out some of the eyeshadow trios. On the other hand, the cheek & lip tints did give me a pleasant surprise, but I would not say that they are a must have go-to. In addition, as I mentioned, I do not think the lip palette is a necessary product from this collection and I would suggest passing on it.

Thank you all for viewing this post and I will have another one up for you all soon!!

Review: New Revlon Mega Multiplier Mascara

I am going to start this blog off with a disclaimer for you all; I did receive this mascara for free through a website called Influenster. Basically the concept is that you review products from different brands and you have the opportunity to receive new products for free to review; and I am lucky enough that this is the first thing I have ever received from them to review!! Now with all that being said let's get into the review!!

To be completely honest I have never tried a mascara from Revlon before and did not even know that they had released a new mascara. The claims for this mascara are that it is flake-free, smudge proof, and will provide your lashes with mega volume and extended length. Since my lashes have everything wrong with them (they literally stick straight out, they are very short, and they have no length) I am hoping this mascara can help with some of these problems!

When first applied at 7:30 am.

My initial impressions of this mascara upon first application was that it really did add a lot of volume to my lashes like it claimed it would. I was very impressed and saw an immediate difference in the volume of my lashes. However, I did not see a real noticeable difference in the length of my lashes.

At 8:27 pm at the end of the day.

At the end of the day this mascara was true its word and did not flake or smudge all day. Throughout the day I had to walk in the rain and wait for buses in the rain multiple times and it held up with absolutely no smudging at all!!

Overall, this mascara was great for adding some extra volume to the lashes and held up great throughout the day! However, besides adding volume to my lashes I found that it did not add anything else to my lashes. I think if the major issue you have with your lashes is a lack of volume then this is a great drugstore mascara to try out. For me personally I will definitely continue to use this mascara, but just for a more casual daytime look.

Soiree Diaries Eyeshadow Palette

I think this is a really nice palette with a lot of nice neutral shades. Now this is not a palette that you can create a ton of looks with; it is a good base palette to work with other palettes. So if you already have a lot of neutral basic shades this may not be the palette for you. Another issue I had with this palette is that the shades Snazzy and Epic were a little patchy swatching and applying to the lid/Blending. However, every other shade was great to work with and I especially liked the four glittery shades in the palette.

Contour Diaries Palette

When it comes to contour palettes I am not too picky. As long as they are pigmented and blend out easily I am generally happy with it and this palette checked off both of those boxes. It is a typical contour palette with three contour shades and three highlight shades. I personally have been going back and forth between the lightest highlight shade (because pale of course) and the middle banana coloured shade. Overall, I really enjoyed playing with this palette.

Overall I think this is a great basics collection to have if you are starting off in makeup. I would highly recommend the contour palette to anyone and I think the eyeshadow palette is a good basic palette. As I mentioned earlie, the only issue I have with the eyeshadow palette is that you have to work a little harder to blend the two darker colours (Snazzy and Epic) in the palette.

Weird Products: Battle of the Peel-Off Lipsticks

I would like to start off with apologizing to you all for not posting for a week, I moved into a new apartment and was also standing in a friend's wedding so I was very busy. However, I am going to work extra hard to get more posts up for you guys, so lets get into this post! Last year peel-off lipsticks were a big thing going around on YouTube and a lot of beauty bloggers tried them out and reviewed them. However, a couple of months ago I did a haul from the website Shop Miss A which has a ton of products for only $1 and I noticed that they had three different brands of peel-off lipstick. So I decided to see if these were actually worth it and test out which brand was the best in three categories.

Round 1 (Arm Swatches)

OMG

Just from the arm swatches alone this brand of peel-off lip stain has a really bad smell to is and comes out of the tube uncontrollably as soon as you open it without even squeezing it. Overall it was really messy and I was not impressed with the arm swatches after they peeled off (they are kind of a mess).

Santee

I noticed a bit of a bad smell from these peel-off lip stains, but definitely not as bad as the OMG ones. These tubes also had an issue with the product coming out uncontrollably making it a little messy to try and work with. I was really impressed with pigmentation overall although there were a few shades that were a little patchy.

Starry

Out of the three brands this one was definitely the easiest to work with and the thickest formula. I also found that these were the most opaque shades overall across the three brands.

Round 2 (Lip Swatches)

OMG

I mean I think the disgusted look on my face in half of these pictures really speaks for itself. Once again, they were all very liquidy going on and there was a slight stinging sensation almost right away. However, since the arm swatches were not too great I was pleasantly surprised at how pigmented and opaque each of these shades were! In terms of peeling off though they were a little difficult to grab hold of and peel off and there was a bad taste afterwards too. In addition, it did not dry completely and my lips were still sticky after being peeled off.

Lovely Pink and Sexy Purple were my two favorite (and the most pigmented) shades out of this group. This brand was definitely easier to peel than the OMG brand, but the inner rim of the lips was harder to peel off and never really dried completely, so it is a little messy.

Starry

Vibrant Red and Kiss Orange were two shades that were particularly patchy, but other than that they were very nicely pigmented and this brand was the easiest one to peel off.

 Round 3 (How They Wore)

OMG

First application

10:13 am: First application after peeling it off.

After only a couple of bites of lunch (not impressed)

12:17 pm: I only had a couple of bites of my lunch and my boyfriend immediately noticed a lot of product on my chin.

After supper update

7:49 pm: After supper it was very patchy and definitely more pigmented on the inner lip.

Final update

9:48 pm: There was still some pigment left at the end of the day, but it was very patchy.

Santee

First application

9:24 am: First application of the colour.

First (and only) update

11:18 am: After lunch the majority of the pigment was gone and by the time I ate supper all colour was gone

 Starry

First application

11:13 am: First application (I definitely should have used a lip scrub ahead of time)

 Post lunch update

1:41 pm: After lunch the colour had faded a little, but was still holding on pretty strong.

Post supper update

4:38 pm: After supper there was still some pigment but not a whole lot left.

Overall Review

Overall the best of these three brands and the one I would recommend to you all would be the brand Starry and the brand I would not recommend would be OMG, while Santee just kind of floated around the middle the whole time. Even though OMG was very pigmented on the lips, it did not last long at all on the lips and did not ever completely dry which is odd for a stain. Although I do have my preferences across the three brands I would not say these are a necessary addition to your collection at all. In my opinion they would be best if you are going to some kind of event (where you do not plan on eating anything at all). However, if this looks like something that would interest you and you want to give it a shot for $1 go for it, I personally would not purchase these again for myself.

Thank you all for viewing this post and I will have another one up for you all soon!!
